Frankford is a historic Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood centered around Frankford Avenue and one of the city’s oldest transportation corridors. The area contains traditional rowhomes, commercial blocks, industrial properties, and residential streets reflecting its long history as an independent settlement before becoming part of Philadelphia.

The Frankford Transportation Center is a major SEPTA hub and the northeastern terminus of the Market-Frankford Line, providing direct rapid-transit service toward Center City and West Philadelphia. Frankford Avenue remains an important commercial corridor, while nearby Tacony Creek Park and other recreation areas provide green space within this densely developed section of Northeast Philadelphia.
