Old City is one of Philadelphia’s most historic neighborhoods, located along the Delaware River at the eastern edge of Center City. Cobblestone streets, preserved 18th- and 19th-century buildings, converted lofts, galleries, restaurants, and newer residences create a distinctive mix of historic and contemporary Philadelphia.

Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Elfreth’s Alley, and the Museum of the American Revolution are among the many major landmarks in and around the neighborhood. The Delaware River waterfront and Penn’s Landing are nearby, while SEPTA’s Market-Frankford Line provides transportation throughout the city. Old City also contains an active restaurant, arts, and gallery district.
