West Chester is the county seat of Chester County and is centered around one of the region’s most active historic downtowns. Brick sidewalks, historic architecture, restaurants, cafes, boutiques, offices, and residential streets create a compact borough surrounded by larger suburban townships.

The Chester County Historic Courthouse is a prominent downtown landmark, while West Chester University adds educational, cultural, and athletic activity to the borough. Routes 3, 202, and 322 connect West Chester with Philadelphia’s western suburbs, Wilmington, and the Brandywine Valley. Parks and recreation areas throughout Chester County are also readily accessible.
